John Halliburton

How did you first get interested in New Thought/ Religious Science?
I actually attended Religious Science Sunday school when I was 10 or 12 in Hollywood, California. Dr Bitzer was the minister. He later began the Religious Science International branch. Even in my 20 year exile in Baltimore I found newsstands that carried the SOM magazine. When I moved to Phoenix it didn't take long to find a Religious Science church.

Who are some of your most significant teachers/mentors?
I have been lucky to have quite a few who helped me in my studies. Starting way back a First Church and Hillary Manning. At CLF, Bobbie Croddy and, of course, Rev. Michele. Add to that the host of speakers, teachers and practitioners who contributed to my understanding.

Do you prefer to work face-to-face, over the phone, or other ways?
Face to face is certainly more comfortable. Over the phone I miss the nuances the client's body language and expressions add to my knowledge of their current understanding and feelings.

Are you an Arizona Native?
No, but at 15 years I am approaching a length of residency record. I actually am a third generation California Native and I really was "born in East L.A."

What is your greatest joy about being a Practitioner?
Helping someone toward their spiritual goals. It is like teaching someone to sing, to more fully express the God Child they are. I also enjoy teaching and am looking forward to teaching my first CLF class.
